​Dr. Zachary “Zac” Robbins - Educator, Author, Social Justice Advocate

​Former Marysville, Washington, school superintendent, Dr. Zachary “Zac” Robbins was a classroom teacher in the late 1990s before moving into administration in 2003. Dr. Zachary “Zac” Robbins has authored three books and become a social justice advocate during his time as an educator.

Dr. Robbins was a high school English teacher in Washington DC and Maryland from 1996 to 1998. In 2002, Dr. Robbins returned to classroom teaching at a high school in Boston. In 2003, he began working in education administration as an assistant principal at Noonan Business Academy High School in Boston. In 2005, the Academy of Public Service High School hired him as its principal. A few of his accomplishments in this position included the school becoming the fourth most improved in Massachusetts. In 2007, he became the principal of Cheyenne High School in Las Vegas. Two years later, the University of Phoenix hired him to serve as education faculty.

Dr. Robbins became superintendent of Marysville School District 25 in Washington in 2022, where he remained until 2024. He improved the career education program and increased the number of students enrolled in advanced placement courses.

In addition to his role as an educator and administrator, Dr. Robbins has authored three books: Restorative Justice Tribunal, Becoming a Social Justice Educator, and The Teacher Black Students Need. He has also had several articles published in Edutopia. Throughout his career, he has advocated for educational equity for Black students, restorative justice practices in schools, culturally responsive teaching, anti-bias education, and unconscious bias training.
